The Vidalia Onion is a Georgia- grown yellow granex hybrid known for its sweet, mild flavor. The inductry´s annual harvest brings some $50 million into Georgias economy, Vidalia Onions are haevested from late April through to mid- June. In 1990, Georgia Legislature declared the Vidalia Onions as the official state vegetable. Approximately 275 growers cultivate Vidalia Onions on over 10000 acres.
